Thursday April, 16

I was in a movie! I forget the name, but I got to be a dancer (my dream) and also eat free beer and pizza! Yay!

Friday April, 17

POTATO CHAMPION had their one year anniversary. *Pchamp is a fry cart with the most delicious poutine treats, if you don't know poutine then you better wiki or die.
Lot's of cool bands, Reporter, is mostly who I remember. Thanks to the marker power of drinking Joose I caught an Idaho Spud candy treat from a potato pinata which had kewl eyes and some arms which was funny and confusing.

I'm gay! Also, Saturday sucked and I thought someone stole my *organic cheetos.

If you want to see some visuals from these nights then you can JUST GO FUCK YOURSELF or get on the facebooks.
Let me just preface this by saying WHERE THE FUCK WERE ALL THE JAMS THIS YEAR?...mostly I lost my DJ spot and my access. Nevertheless...

SSION

Art rockers take all. This album shot white light all through my life.

HERCULES AND LOVE AFFAIR

Why do I love you so? Maybe it's the subliminal title, or the neon art work, or the muscles...especially Antony, of Antony and the Johnsons.

CRYSTAL CASTLES

Some jock introduced these nintendo-electro jams to me in web art and I've been gay ever since.

CUT COPY

Dude, did you hear the new Cut Copy? It's amazing!
No, did you hear the old one?
Needless to say, loved it.

GLASS CANDY

I went to see this duo live this year. My ears are still ringing from over-stimulated pleasure. They were throwing these out with giant balloons, neither of which I caught-pissed!

SANTOGOLD tied with SANTOGOLD & DIPLO

At times Santogold reminds me of early No Doubt which my retro soul craves daily; a sound which was only made better by the audacious* sounds of my great man-crush Diplo, whom wowz on his own but really verges on contraband when he pairs up. (M.I.A. anyone?)
*the audacity of jams

WHY?

I don't know what it is that sounds fresh, but it gets me wet.

HOT CHIP

These boys are too hip. There is so much to digest in these songs that it's almost impossible to not meat everyone on some level...esp. the level of bacon (yes, it's that good).

Also...

I totally dug TV On the Radio's Dear Science but never heard it enough;
same with Portishead's Third;
& M83's Saturday's = Youth (though I have been watching some M0lly Ringwald);
Erykah Badu's Amerikuh was incredible but I'm not sure I have the street cred to put it on my top 10;
liked Vampire Weekend's ST but am too pretentious, though I do know that British English Teacher's give a fuck about an oxford comma;
& Beach House's Devotion was enjoyable.

Other mentionable releases:
The Virgins, Late of the Pier, Ladytron, The Kills, Health, CSS, The Teenagers, Does it Offend You Yeah?, Hearts Revolution, Kid Sister...

I'm sure there are more, however, I broke my computer. Whoopsie!

So I probably missed out on a lot, please please please fill me in!!!

Glitter&Gold, Seaside, Crash

GLITTER & GOLD

I turned 23. There was a pinata filled with cake. It was kinda of the most amazing day of my life. Gold chains, underwear shopping in the Euro-sicko store with Nichole, cupcakes for breakfast and backyard croquet. "Heather, it's your shot."

We stopped in at Fringe, my vintage job, to pick up some leopard print.

Every hour on the hour a bottle of champagne was popped. Absynthe was circulating. I burned myself in a bubble bath, nude with Johnny.

Nichole threw everyone out, thank god. Because Liz was crying. Nicko was blacked-out enough to scold himself in that bathtub (which really should have been my golden shower).

The party nearly killed Zachary Rose. The next morning, covered in vomit he says: "What the fuck happened to my shirt?" Me: "Maybe you took it off when you tackled me into the kiddie pool filled with ice."

Seaside

I kidnapped a pal, Tim, around midnight. There was a lot of talk until the last 10 minutes of the ride. Tim passed out, for the better, I guess. There is light when we park on the beach but Indian beach, near Cannon, stays cloudy until 10. I slept off and on, woken once by beach security and othertimes by surfers using the parking lot like a lockerroom.

Around one we walk the shore, looking into tidepools and crashing the background of random asians photos.

We drive to seaside afterwards. Ate some mexican food and visited the aquarium. The seals are real bitches. They splash if you don't feed them the pussy* (as in pUss not pusE) little fish they give you at the ticket booth. Each of the seals know a trick for attention, translating into slapping their fat or making obnoxious sounds. Tim nearly poked an octopus; he bought a mood ring.

The boardwalk has my favorite arcade game, the Simpsons, I play as Lisa but don't make it to the second world. After skeeball and ticket cash outs, we get some taffee, and play put-put golf. I walk away from the most brilliant american hoodie because I could not decide if it should have space dolphins, eagles or horses with lightning.

We checked some galleries and got the fuck out.

Crash

I'm drinking Baby Elephants at some Tiki bar on 28th & Broadway. Everyone, mostly whom suck, decide they need karaoke.

I get in my car. Try to flip a u-turn and ram a Broadway Taxi. Fuck. fuck. FUCK!

The guy gets out of his car, we check to see if one another are ok, then we never speak again. I go eat candy in my car until the police come.

They shut down Broadway for about an hour. Some firemen come and kick debree. "Hey, don't tamper with evidence." I say.

Some cops get all the info and say they won't investigate. (wow thanks!) The cab company comes to take pictures and Elyse and I pretend to be corpses in the car.

A group of spectators are outside staring, so I go over and try to use the situation as a pick up line. "I just crashed my car, do you find that sexy?"

Afterwards, I try to sell the cops paintings out of my car/gallery. They don't go for it, instead discuss their love for Godard.

We get a toe and I go home and order pizza.

Well I'm officially a second rate cowboy in the city. Sure I'm living with a drug dealer but I def don't have the outfit or even an in with ma boy Gus. I might be a little too old for him anywayz.

Since I have been here I've scene a documentary about queer director/painter Derek Jarman. Perhaps most notable for his film Blue & music video collaborations.

Also, last night I lost a number of people after allegedly becoming decapitated and simultaneously attacked by black people and abducted by aliens. I have no memory of the experience but I do, however, remember Tube being far to packed to dance Pi REM playing only Indian covers of MIA's 'Jimmy' (AHH CHAA!!!) and finally finding a comfortable medium in the glitchy dance traxxx of Claire Huxtable (I shinksho@ least) in the downstairs part of Rotture.

*eddie segwick appeared like a giant haired dream

Also, Friday night was Holocene's GAYCATION. I lost a flask and might be banned, but was surprised to see one of my favorite Indigo bartenders had relocated up here.

Yay for cameos.

Of course, it was hardly last year's GC without my fanny-packed beauty Miss K Beck.

...I guess I should mention my new love affair from Hopworks tonight...beautiful blonde...daring me to make it my regular monday night pub. We'll see hottie, I'm not sure you were hercules...but maybar.

P.S. I have no home or job. I'm living with Ben Carver. It's alright. He tries to make out far too much, considering the dead sexual chemistry, and he's still not gay.

But living without a reality has always been my forte. So, I hope to continue with the local reviews (though they were hardly thorough) and meaningless anecdotes...

KESSES U SHETBAG BETCHES!

to the man who sez all revolutions are doomed to fail, I say all apocalypses have their millenniums.

DJ CAKEBOY&ZOMBIEJESUS GOGO IN A GAY BAR!

    <lj:music>Are you joking? I'm with the bartender.</lj:music>

I just played the radest show I've ever had. I was covering another DJ's shift so I had a FOUR HOUR BLOCK. This is why it ruled: A. I could prep my own crowd. B. Half way through I switched DJ names. C. I could separate out genre and time-period to maximize the rocking-out-with-the-cock-out-ness. D. I rule and therefore the phone was ringing off the hook up until five thirty in the morning.

"Hey man I don't know if I've slept or never went to bed, but you can keep fucking me in the ear with those electro-beats." You better believe I will DJ something Powers.

I could go on about the awesomeness and the structure of songs and bands but you really just would have had to listen -- which you can, you can even stream on http://www.kwvaradio.org/

or you could do it!
right
here:
http://gladstone.uoregon.edu/~kwva/

But on to more important things. It is true I was a go-go dancer. But only for a night and I never actually danced but they said I could so when my balls knock between my knees and my crippley old face is endlessly jabbering on about my go-go days, those of you still living can verify, yes, it is in fact truth.

Plus. I will probably go back and dance if I don't try to DJ.
I want to daddy. I really, really do.

Otherwise summer sucks. Food poisoning, failing spanish and no income. Talk about the crapshoot.

Maybe I should start doing bar mitzvahs ... Don't think I won't come if you invite me.

So obviously this story could use some elaboration which I will, likely, if you ask.
